A small number of our nursing staff have tested positive for Covid-19 and are currently self-isolating in line with current guidelines. Other members of the nursing team who are not currently showing symptoms are also self-isolating as a precautionary measure.
We have been advised by Public Health England that as all the correct infection control and PPE measures have been followed, the risk to patients that have been in contact with our nursing team is very low. As such, there is no need for patients to take any further action.
We have been liaising directly with Public Health England and NHS colleagues since these cases emerged and we can confirm that it is safe for patients with booked face to face appointments to attend the surgery as planned.
We are currently prioritising the most urgent clinical nursing appointments and contacting patients accordingly. If you have a booked appointment and have not been contacted then please assume that it will go ahead as planned.
